First 10 min of the new Battlestar Galactica Episode

For those of you who would like to see it again, here are the first 10 minutes of the first episode of Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica. Just can't get enough of it!

How long will Apollo stay fat?

I am sure a lot of you have noticed the few pounds Apollo has put on in the new Season of Battlestar Galactica (we had already had a glimpse of the Fat Apollo in the Season finale of Battlestar Galactica).
Well, not to worry, Jamie Bamber (who portrays Apollo) did not really gain those extra pounds, they have put a fat suit on him to make him appear fat. This was done in order to show that Apollo has been letting himself go and is not the same Apollo we have seen through season one and two of Battlestar Galactica. Not to worry though, Apollo will not stay fat forever. According to his interview (which I talk about in a previous post) they will gradually fade the fat suit away as Apollo regains control of himself.

Occupation & Precipice - Battlestar Galactica is back!

It's official, "Battlestar Galactica" is back! After the two hour premiere on Friday night, I have to say that I am even more excited than I was before.
I didn't see the 2 hours go by and by the end I was still hungry for more...
Once a week is just not enough to satisfy my need of "Battlestar Galactica".

As for the first episode (for those of you who haven't seen it yet, there might be some spoilers here), my favorite story was the Kara/Leoben story. She is still the good old Starbuck we know and love, but what I'd like to know is how she got there?
Apollo to me felt weak, I miss the old one, but I have a feeling he will be back and will have all that weight he gained off again.

We are still waiting for the return of the Battlestar Galactica to save all those people condemned to death by the cylons, and that is why I can't wait to be Friday!

Interview with Jamie Bamber (Apollo)

I just read an article of an Interview with Jamie Bamber (Apollo in "Battlestar Galactica") on tv.com and apparently Season 3 promises to be very exciting. Apparently,
"We get to see a lot more of the Cylons. We go inside the Cylon base ship, and onto the Cylon world."
said Jamie Bamber.
As for me I cannot wait for October 6th to be here.

If you would like to read the entire article.

Webisodes are so short

Don't you feel the webisodes are too short. It almost makes you want to wait until there are 3 or 4 available that you haven't seen to watch all of them in a row. But still, it is a great plan to keep Battlestar Galactica in your mind and ready for Season 3.
So far, the webisodes haven't been as exciting as the actual Battlestar Galactica episodes, but I guess that's why they are webisodes, made to make you wait for the new Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica.
Still, I can't wait to see the new webisode Thursday. (Only 2 days to go!)

The Resistance - Webisode 5

And yes, the webisode 5 of "The Resistance" of Battlestar Galactica is online! I will be watching it later in the day. I will be posting the video later as it becomes available, so be patient.

Battlestar Galactica: Season 3 Preview

Here is a Preview for Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, now doesn't make you wish it was October 6th already?

Here is another one that you can also see at the end of Webisodes.

Stay tuned for more Websidoes coming Tuesday at Midnight.

Webisodes - The Resistance

I finally watched the first 4 Webisodes of Battlestar Galactica (also posted on this blog).
I think this is a wonderful idea, it keeps you waiting and wanting more at the same time for Season 3.
Funny enough, up til now, only secondary characters have been seen in "The Resistance" Webisodes of Battlestar Galactica, like Colonel Tigh, the Chief and Callie. No Starbuck or Apollo, yet?

Up to date with Season 2 - [spoilers]

So I finally finished watching Season two of Battlestar Galactica, and I have to say: What a switch!
After installing themselves on New Caprica, the episode moves a year ahead in time, a year!!!!
I have to say I have mixed feelings about that, on the one hand it's an awesome season finale, but on the other I don't know what to expect from Season 3, because I feel they took away the essence of Battlestar Galactica by moving everybody out of Battlestar Galactica and getting them a new life. I mean the Chief is with Callie now (who is pregnant!), Starbuck is married (and not to Apollo, to whom she doesn't speak much). I feel like I lost all the excitment of Season One.
Now the Cylons run New Caprica, and as we understand it in the webisodes, a Resistance is starting to rise up.
Well, let's just wait and see Season 3 of Battlestar Galactica, Season 3.

Webisode - The Resistance part 3 Tonight

For those who follow, part three of the Resistance Webisodes will be put on the Sci-fi website tonight at Midnight.
It's going to be a long night.
I will try to post the video tomorrow on the blog for those who do not have access to the Sci-fi website.
Stay tuned!

Pegasus - Rape scene

Did you know that two versions of the rape scene of Sharon of Battlestar Galactica were filmed?
The first one is of course the one we actually saw in which Helo and the Chief get to Sharon before Major Thorne starts raping her.
In the other version, Major Thorne had started to rape Sharon when Helo and the Chief got there.
I guess they decided to go with the softer version. I think that was a wise decision. It still conveyed the same to me without actually having him actually physically abuse Sharon.

Pegasus

I would just like to take this moment to go back a few episodes to "Pegasus".
I just thought it was one of the episodes of Battlestar Galactica worth mentioning, as it is one of the only ones that make you sympathetic to the Cylons.
In this episode, we see a different side of Cylons. Or should I say the way humans treat them. We find Number Six locked up in a room in the Pegasus, beaten up almost to death and abused. Gaius' expression is very touching. It is one of the first time that we see a sympathetic reaction from him for someone other than himself. It shows how horrible the actions of the crew were on Number Six.
In addition, they almost get to Sharon. Major Thorne tries to rape her before being stopped by Helo and the Chief. I found myself rooting for the Cylons and suddenly realized why they would want to eliminate humans.
It seems that nothing is always black or white. Sometimes things are grey.

Scar - Season two

This episode is one of the great ones. Not only because it is very well acted but the storyline is great. They identify this Cylons Raider as different from the others (although they all look the same) because he sneaks up on people to kill them and then jumps away. It feels like it has a soul. Sharon even tells Starbuck, that Scar (as they named him) is probably very angry after being killed a few times (and been reborn of course).
In addition, Apollo and Starbuck finally kiss! But it's not the kiss we were execting. Still it's better than nothing, it will keep us waiting for another one to come.
Too bad Starbuck is still hung up on her love back in Caprica.
But all this does is only give us something to wait for, and as a result will keep us watching.
Will Starbuck and Apollo finally get together?

The episode ends on a sad note, as Starbuck drinnks to all the fighters who died.

So say we all...

Should Humans show more respect to the Cylons?

Here is one question that I have been asking myself: Should Humans be more humble and show respect to the Cylons?
They keep calling the Cylons "Toasters", but should they show more respect given the fact that the Cylons wiped them out of Caprica? They talk about them as if they were nothing and the humans were more powerful, but the truth is, the Cylons killed almost every human being. They won the war! But still, the humans don't respect them and call them names.
If I was one of them, I would be very careful what I say about them, because one day it could come back and bite you in the a**.

New Webisode TONIGHT

Ok so the new webisode will be online tonight at Midnight. I am sure there will be tons of people staying up waiting to see another chapter of Battlestar Galactica, but unfortunately I will not be one of them. Not only do I have to wake up early the next day, but I am still not up to date (for those who follow), still finishing Season 2 of Battlestar Galactica. Or should I say beginning, because really I only saw episode one of Season 2. So I will probably spend most of the evening watching a few more episodes, and dream of watching the webisodes... hahaha

Anway, enjoy it for those of you who can!

Webisodes on Sci-fi

So there is this new thing on www.scifi.com/battlestar/ for Battlestar Galactica, which they call Webisodes. It seems like they created little episodes of Battlestar Galactica to make us wait until the new season starts in October. The Webisodes will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday at Midnight until October 6th, which marks the beginning of Season 3. Now that is a very inventive way to please the fans. Can't wait to watch all the websiodes.
Now I really have to finish Season 2 in order to start watching the webisodes on Sci-fi.

This week-end will be intensive watching of season two then. Can't wait 'till I am up to date. This has dragged on way too long. ;-)

Starbuck and Apollo: Will they ever kiss?

I think one of the most frustrating things with watching "Battlestar Galactica" was the ambiguous relationship between Starbuck and Apollo. I think it's one of the love interest that the writers are playing with to keep audiences wanting for more.
I mean come on kiss already! But at the same time don't you enjoy their struggle to tell each other how they feel.
Anyway, this will be interesting to see how it turns out in Season Two, especially now that Starbuck cried Lee's name as she was having sex with Gaius (Awkward!).

I guess I'll find out soon enough as I am preparing myself to watch Season 2.

Kobol's Last Gleaming

So I finally watched the last episode (season finale) of Season One of Battlestar Galactica, and all I have to say is OMG!!!
I did not see Adama getting shot coming. It was very well put together. I mean I really thought Boomer was just going to shake his hand and that maybe after something was going to happen with her, but what a surprise!
Greatest Season Finale, thank god I do not have to wait too long to see the rest. I cannot wait to see Season two. And Season three will be on SOON, October 6th!!! Everybody needs to write this down!
I am so speechless by the events of the last episode that I wasn't even able to come up with a theory...
Oh well, the fight between Starbuck and Number Six was awesome though.

Wait, I do have something to say about the episode: Isn't it funny how she risks her life to go get the arrow of "Apollo" and that her deepest desire is indeed Lee "Apollo"...

I will just leave you with this thought.

Colonial Day - Battlestar Galactica

OMG - Gaius Baltar, Vice President?!!!!!

OK this is GREAT! Who would have thought. I keep saying it and will say it again, this is getting better and better.

And the ending with Helo finally finding out Sharon is a Cylon (it took some time didn't it for him to catch up).

The Hand of God - Battlestar Galactica

I just finished watching "The Hand of God" in the first season of Battlestar Galactica and I just had to write about one thing:
The ending of the epsiode just makes it all worth it as Gaius starts to believe he is none other than: "The Hand of God"...
This is getting better and better. Can anyone believe this?

Gaius really is the best character of Battlestar Galactica!

Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down - Battlestar Galactica

And we're back!

Pretty cool episode. Col. Tigh has a very interesting wife. And we still don't know if she is a Cylon. My good friend Gaius Baltar wouldn't tell! In this episode of Battlestar Galactica, we saw a different side of Col. Tigh; we saw his weakness: his wife Ellen. Now she is a character. I have to say she puts women to shame. Do women like her really exist?

As far as Laura's suspicions about Adama being a Cylons, this episode of Battlestar Galactica uses it very well. They show how easily people can turn on each other and how manipulating the Cylons are. They are indeed very smart.

This episode is also pretty funny as they play on miscommunication on the Battlestar Galactica ship. Everybody is doing their things behind everybody elses back. That is what leads to very comedic situations. For example, when Ellen's results are not ready yet because they have been submitted by Adama and stopped by Laura and back on and off again.

Very enjoyable episode. And of course we see more of Gaius and his funny ways, so I would definitly recommend watching that one!

Cylons: Smarter than humans?

Are Cylons smarter than us? This is the question we have to aks ourselves when watching Battlestar Galactica. So far I would have to say yes. They use everything they know and have against us.
They can play with our minds. They have the greatest advantage over us: they look like us!
They are the only ones who know who is a cylon and who is not. That is why they can make you believe than anyone is a Cylon.
Like making the President believe Adama is a Cylon. Now that could lead to chaos among humans, and that is when humans are the weakest.

Thank god for Gaius' machine!

Finally will be able to resume my watching of Battlestar Galactica

OK, so I finally received the last 2 DVDs of Season 1 of Battlestar Galactica. And I am not ready to start watching all of it. I will soon be a new person. I will have finished the first season and be almost as knowledgeable as most of the other fans of Battlestar Galactica.

Anyway, can't wait to start and see what waits around the corner for the crew of Battlestar Galactica.

Will be back soon! ;-)

Waiting to receive new DVD of Battlestar Galactica

It may seem like I haven't been doing my homework lately: Watching Season 1 of Battlestar Galactica. I have actually been waiting to receive the next DVD of the Season. It should arrive today, so watch out. This week-end will be full of news and updates on the new episodes that I will be watching!
So saty tuned!

Flesh and Bone - Battlestar Galactica

This was the last episode on the second disc of the first Season of Battlestar Galactica, or episode 8.
Interesting episode that raises a lot of questions about the Cylons. With Leoben Conoy being captured, we hoped we could find out some information about the future plans of the Cylons. However, instead of us finding out more information, the Cylon manages to mess up everybody's minds.
I thought his very last sentence to Laura was very impactful: "Adama is a Cylon". Now that is a very smart thing to say in order to create chaos among humans!
Divide and Conquer!

Cylons and Sex

So when I was watching "Six Degrees of Separation", something occured to me:

In the episode, Helo and Sharon have sex, and as we know, Cylons' back "light up" when they have sex. Of course Helo at this point doesn't see her back, but it got me thinking. Wouldn't the Chief, at some point in time, have noticed Sharon's back when they were having sex? There are positions where it would be possible for him to see it (ex: doggy style).
But let's say that, for some reason, they never had sex in any position that would allow him to see her back, my next thought would be: what about Gaius?
Now, I will not believe that he did not have sex in many different positions with number Six. There has to be at least one time where he would have been in a position to see her back "light up". Not to mention that they did stay together for a while (in order for Number Six to get close to Gaius).

So I guess my question is: How is it that none of them realized that those women were Cylons?

Six Degrees of Separation - Battlestar Galactica

Finally saw the next episode of Battlestar Galactica (Season one, episode 7). Good old Gaius being accused of betraying humans, no way!
But it's a very interesting episode if you think about it.It proves how smart Cylons are. They managed to put Dr. Gaius Baltar in a position of power. In addition, no one will ever dare to suspect him of doing anything to help Cylons. It's a great plan! No wonder the Cylons won the war agains the humans.

Did I mention that I really like Dr. Gaius Baltar? Well, let me repeat it. He is such an interesting character, only out for himself. He doesn't care about anyone but himself and is great at manipulating people to help him. If you think about it, he represents most people living on this Earth.

So I guess if they did find Earth, he would fit right in with the population! ;-)

Battlestar Galactica Break

Unfortuneately today won't have much new reports on Battlestar Galactica as I am away from my beautiful Battlestar Galactica DVDs and haven't been able to watch a new episode.
But do not fear, I will get back on it hopefully by tonight and will be able to bring you more exciting news.
Until later, have a very nice day!

Laura Roslin - the President, a Woman

One of the greatest thing about Battlestar Galactica is that the President is a woman. But she is not any woman, she is a very smart, well-spoken, classy woman. I think it relly shows that a woman in power can do amazing things and be as efficient as a man.
In Battlestar Galactica, Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell)becomes the President after the 45 people in line for the succession before her die in the Cylon attack. Let's not forget to mention that she got the biggest promotion ever: from Education Minister to President!
And she handles it very well, her first instinct is to find all the survivors of the attack.
None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for the wonderful acting work deon by Mary McDonnell. She really brings the character of Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica alive.
To conclude, there wouldn't any better portrayal of a woman President than the one of Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica.

Battlestar Galactica filling Firefly hole

Ever since Serenity (the movie) came out I have been watching all the episodes of the short-lived series "Firefly". When I saw it, I was compelled to buy the first and only Season on DVD.
I am now wondering whether Battlestar Galactica is not filling the whole that I felt when I finished watching the last Firefly episode...
Although very different in tone, Battlestar Galactica goes in the same direction as Firefly. Which is why I think I was appealed towards Battlestar Galactica in the first place.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you also fans of Firefly? Do you usually like shows like Battlestar Galactica (for ex: Stargate).

For those of you who haven't seen Firefly, you need to, it's an awesome show!

Litmus - Battlestar Galactica

Ok, so I am currently watching the episode "Litmus" (still have about 15 minutes left). It's the 6th episode of the 1st season of Battlestar Galactica (not counting the Miniseries) and I am really enjoying it.
I think it's really funny that the Chief Petty Officer Tyrol (Aaron Douglas) is being suspected of being a Cylon (especially since we know Boomer is the one). Don't know how this one's going to end.

I have to say that I also really enjoy Helo and the other Boomer's story on Caprica. He likes her so much... if he only knew!

Battlestar Galactica on iTunes

Did you guys know that you can get episodes or full seasons of Battlestar Galactica on iTunes?
I think this is amazing, 10 years ago we were dreaming about things like that.
Today, we can download those episodes from any computer and put it on an ipod and watch it wherever and whenever we want.
I think technology is wonderful!

Starbuck Video

Video of Starbuck for you guys:

Original "Battlestar Galactica" opening

For you viewing pleasure: the original "Battlestar Galactica" opening! lol

Captain Lee 'Apollo' Adama

Time to talk about another character on Battlestar Galactica. None other than Apollo (Jamie Bamber). Yes, the son of Commander William Adama (Edward James Olmos), and brother to Zak Adama (Tobias Mehler), Starbuck's deceased boyfriend.
Well, what can we say about him, he is a good man, that is why he cannot be with Starbuck even though he wants to. Does anybody agree with that? He does love her, but won't do anything about it because it would feel like betraying his brother.
I think he is troubled by the fact that his brother was the favorite.
Which is why he does all the right things and saves everyone (ex: Season 1 when they were going to be attacked by the Cylons and he fooled them into thinking they had killed the ship when they didn't reallly. That was at the very beginning.)

I am sure he is many people's favorite character but I have to say that of the men on Battlestar Galactica, he is not my favorite (but that will be for later).

Any thoughts on Apollo?

Starbuck a man?!

Ok so I just learned that in the original Battlestar Galactica, the character of Starbuck was actually a man!
I have to say that since I really like the new Starbuck in the 2004 Battlestar Galactica, I think they made the right decision.
The old Starbuck was played by Dirk Benedict in the original Battlestar Galactica.
I haven't seen his performance, but something tells me that I would like the new Starbuck better.
How about you? What do you think? New Starbuck or Old Starbuck?

Lt Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace

As you can guess, Starbuck is probably one of my favorite character on the show. AT first I have to say I did not like her at all, but that was when I wasn't really watching the show and catching glimpses of it.
Now, after starting to watch season 1, I have to say that she grew on me. She's really tough and it is someone that a lot of people can look up to.
Of course I haven't seen all of the seasons (still have season 2 to go =0) ) but I am getting there and of course will share it with you guys.

What do you guys think? Do you like Starbuck as much as I do?

Welcome fans of Battlestar Galactica

I started this blog because I am a new fan of the show Battlestar Galactica and am currently finishing the first season.
I am already very excited about the new season that is coming out in October 2006.

In this blog there will consist fun facts, news and any other information that I find important about Battlestar Galactica.
Thanks for sharing your time with me!
